If PrivateByRight VPN is not connecting, work through these steps in order:

  1. Check your internet connection. Disconnect from the VPN and confirm you can browse the web normally. The VPN requires an active internet connection.
  2. Try a different server. The server you selected may be temporarily unavailable. Try another server in the same country, or use Quick Connect.
  3. Switch protocol. Go to Settings > Protocol and switch between WireGuard and OpenVPN. Some networks block specific protocols.
  4. Restart the app. Close the app completely and reopen it.
  5. Restart your device. A full reboot can resolve many connectivity issues.
  6. Check your firewall or antivirus. Security software may be blocking the VPN. Temporarily disable it to test, then add an exception for PrivateByRight VPN if that resolves the issue.
  7. Update the app. Make sure you're running the latest version of the app.
  8. Reinstall the app. Uninstall and reinstall the app from www.privatebyright.com/download.

  • Your operating system and version
  • The app version you're using
  • The exact error message displayed
